The founders and driving forces behind the winery are Laurent and Catherine Delaunay. Their background and roots are in Burgundy. After gaining valuable experience over several years in places like California, they were among the first to recognize the great potential of a region like the Languedoc.
In the early 1990s, they sought to respond to the then-enormously popular and affordable “New World” wines. Instead of focusing on quantity, they fully committed to producing high-quality wines.
For each grape variety, they sought out the ideal soil, and yields were strictly limited to enhance quality. By combining different terroirs and implementing extensive modernization, they succeeded in achieving optimal balance and a delicious character in their wines.
Les Jamelles was, and still is, their flagship wine, but in the meantime, several other ranges have been added. These include Beau Chêne, with two simple yet incredibly delicious blends, and Les Grands Arbres, which can count itself among France’s first organically produced wines, long before that current trend took off.
Les Jamelles has since become a household name in the Languedoc and a reassuring guarantee of consistency and top-quality wines!
